» Victor Orozco Ramirez

is an independent filmmaker born in Mexico and has lived in Germany since 2002.

He graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Hamburg, Germany with a master’s degree in Fine Arts in the area of documentary filmmaking.

In Guadalajara, his installations and photographs were first exhibited at “Gremioproarte”. Founding partner of Gremiodiseño (Design and Art laboratory) in 1997. Together with filmmaker Dario Aguirre, he curated and organized from 2005 to 2012 in Germany, Ecuador and Mexico the short film festival “ambulart”, a cultural project which was aimed to foment a film exchange between Germany and Latin-America.

Since 2002 he has directed a variety of animation and documentary short films that have participated in more than 250 Film festivals and had won awards among others at the following international film festivals: Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Morelia Film Fest, Guadalajara International Film Festival and Animafest Zagreb.

His films had also been nominated for the Ariel Award and the German Short Film Award. They had also won the Preis der Nationalgalerie for filmmaking, the First Steps Award and the German Short Film Award.
